A close friend of mine was in Zürich on new year and she sent me a postcard. I treasure it.
During the first week of 2023, I spent time with my friends and their very sweet children, and I am overdosed with sugar. To freeze the time with them, I have made this Memories photobook as a present for them.
Two weeks have passed since our time together, we are now return to our daily life separately. The beautiful time we shared seems surreal, like a dream, because they are not around anymore. When I was wondering was that only my imagination? Suddenly, I found this letter from the children in my mailbox. They are real, and they remember me! Isn’t it lovely? A letter from Hogwarts!
I sealed this Memory Book with “An Enchanting Time” sticker, it’s ready to be sent out now.
After the 3 Advent and Christmas recitals, I am back to workshop, studying music, note after note. Currently, I am curating new organ concert programme theme on Pentecost. The programme is not yet finalized, but I am immersed with excitement as my organ teacher was suggesting BWV664! Organ choral prelude – Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr, a super cheerful music about the Holy Spirit.
On the Netherland Bach Society website, it states BWV664 is: HEAVENLY JOY
“The reason for so much cheerfulness is not only a musical one, although Bach has clearly enjoyed himself in the clear, virtuoso sonata style from across the Alps. He even gives two imitations of the arpeggios or broken chords heard so often in Venetian violin music. But Bach goes further and imbues the piece with strong Trinity symbolism that is deeply rooted in Luther’s sermons. If we regard BWV 662 as a rendition of the Father and 663 as the Son, then this chorale arrangement is unmistakably a reflection of the Holy Ghost, the Giver of Life, whom Luther always portrayed as the source of joy and comfort in his Whitsun (Pentecost) sermons.” More information:
