Curating organ programme – Wanderer’s Diary

Time continues to play its organ diligently,
Its little song sings to you every day,
Mixed with sounds that are not cheerful,
That no one wants to hear.

The sounds continue. And as the years go by
It becomes a full singing society.
It makes you go through the roof.
You’d like to be somewhere else.

Well, all right. You do have to travel.
So fill the wandering hose.
Maybe you’ll hear some new tunes,
And you’ll get foot corns too.

Wanderlust
By Wilhelm Busch

Wanderlust: A great desire to travel

I greet my new week with this poem. It contains organ, songs and a wish to travel for new tunes.
How would you greet your new week?

“When my organ Hansel comes, I can start to design new programme, plan for concerts …”
Hansel is coming (6.2.2024)

Hansel is here, as promised, I am curating a new organ programme. I am very thankful for my Instagram friends’ ideas, literature, painting and music belong together, flow into, complement and challenge each other. So I am designing a programme that go into this direction.

I shared my ideas with my sister from time to time. She picked the title “Wanderer’s Diary” out of different options. This programme is about some inspirations from my travelling, like Hamburg, Amsterdam, Paris, Stuttgart, Munich, Leipzig and etc. Things I saw, I listened to, my reason of travelling and etc. I have selected the pieces (60 minutes), I will only announce them one by one when I can play them. Hehe. I have arranged seven lessons with my organ Prof. Let’s see. The poem “Wanderlust” by Wilhelm Busch will be printed on my programme note. Scroll up to see the poem.

I come across a post on Instagram by @askvinh
“Many people die with their music still in them. Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it time runs out.” Oliver Wendall Holmes
So tragic. Live fully. Play all the songs with nothing left.

I am still figuring out the sweet spot of earning enough for living and investing in the music and the travel writing in me. Before my time runs out.

Before your time runs out, what is the “music” in you that you are yet to sing?
