Weekend in Heidelberg

I am extremely tired and I just want to do a quick note before I forget everything.

The friends that I used to meet in Heidelberg were busy or away on this weekend, which made my Heidelberg weekend looked a bit pale. But, an oversea good friend is in town. It was so good to have her, we went to our favourite falafel restaurant in Heidelberg.

So why am I in Heidelberg?

As we were happily enjoying our falafel, another friend walked by: “Hey, are you coming to the concert tonight?” Next to him, was the organist that I know from Youtube, Spotify and Wikipedia. I was in St. Sulpice Paris for a Sunday worship service, but it was long time ago that I cannot remember the music anymore. Anyway, the St. Sulpice organist has given a brilliant concert in Heidelberg yesterday and this is the reason I am in Heidelberg.

“Yeah, of course, that’s why we are here!” I answered.

Other than the concert, I am here also because of work. I had a rehearsal this morning and tomorrow morning I have to accompany a choir on piano in a worship service in Heidelberg. Afternoon, after my private practice session I needed food and I went to Heidelberg old town. After food, I had a little me time strolling in Heidelberg old town and recollecting memories. For example, the first time I heard the concert.

Since the concert, my life and the world has changed a lot. I am no more an employed church musician, also that time we did not know about COVID and the war in Ukraine yet. No matter how things are changing, I am so lucky to be able to come back to the concert constantly, even during the lockdown season.

Can you recall this place?

After the food and the stroll, I’m back to my room. I am thankful for the temporary room. As I do not want to be late for tomorrow morning worship service. So good night!
