I am waiting for the temperature to be bearable to sleep as I am writing this.
Conclusion of the day is gratitude. My temporary visa is prolonged until 28.9.2022 because of the foreign office still need time to exam my long term working visa. I think this is a perfect solution for now, in view of the fact that I have not felt like to commit to any concrete plan yet. If they grant me a long term working visa, I would feel stress to make plan and make commitment to unsuitable plan. Another 3 months is just right for me to stay open as I am still figuring out the long term plan.
This recalls me of the process of buying my spinet. After I announced to everyone that I was looking for a spinet, I received several responses. I made appointments with the sellers but not very eagerly. My attitude was totally different once I received the information about the spinet (now it’s mine). I immediately made an appointment for a date as soon as possible. After consulting two important opinions, I made a decision to buy it. I feel so glad every time I see it and practice on it, this is the best thing I have done in this year so far.
This memory is comforting me. Because I do not think I am that kind of person that afraid of make decision nor cannot commit to responsibility, but the recent situation makes me feel like I am someone that I do not like to be: indecisive, irresponsible, afraid to commit. The memory of purchasing spinet reminds me to keep waiting until “the spinet” appears, before that, do not make any false commitment.
The 3 months duration is also long enough that allows me to be in Rome and to be in the concert that I described as a pleasant surprise in my last post. I cannot comprehend what does it mean. No matter what, I still think that this would be one of the best things that could happen in this year. Alone from reading the programme it already makes me happy.
The organ concert tonight was great, especially the Reubke’s Psalm 94 was sovereign grand and stunning. However, it is a pity that it had very small audience. That is not unusually for organ concert though. I appreciate those musicians that stay true to the music, take great care of the quality of music more than to care about crowd. To me, music is to serve people, however, to serve is different from only to please people. Also, it is an important reminder to me, the number of audience and the quality of music is not directly related.
I think the room temperature has gone down. Good night, talk soon.
