Postcards from an ancient city

I am sending you lots of love from this ancient city. I am not sure if Banksy visited this city, but the girl with the balloon is originally his creation.

The ice cream oh so delicious. Blackberry flavour!

I met Elijah in the cathedral. See how the raven sent him food? Fresco (church wall paintings) from 12th – 13th century. Elijah was a prophet of Israel in the Old Testament Bible.

“And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning,

and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.”

1 Kings 17:6

The view from the ancient city

The reason that I have not revealed the name of this city please read my yesterday’s blog:

The mountains and Elijah are reminding me of a piece of music from Mendelssohn’s “Elijah”- Lift Thine Eyes.

Lift thine eyes, O lift thine eyes to the mountains, whence cometh help.
Thy help cometh from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He hath said, thy foot shall not be moved. Thy Keeper will never slumber.
