Last year, at the Alte Pinakothek in Munich, I was staring at a still life painting. A glorious bouquet with dark background. Beside the bouquet was a crucifix, under the crucifix were a skull, paper, pen, a pocket watch and fruits. An odd arrangement, at least I won’t arrange my table like that.
Naturally, aesthetics of 17th century is quite different from now. Therefore, I read the short information provided and tried to appreciate it. Skull and pocket watch indicating human mortality. Bouquet and fruits representing transience of earthy splendor. Crucifix point to the hope for resurrection and eternal life.

Today, I pretend I am a painter, I paint my still life with light and using camera.
Which of those are only transient glamour?
Which of those are lasting a little bit longer?
Which of those are bringing hope and life?
